I Zefirelli
Luise Catenhusen is a versatile musician specializing in the recorder and cornetto. Her musical focus spans from the Middle Ages to the High Baroque, also encompassing improvisation, arrangements, and modern music. She strives to connect early music with the modern times to reach and inspire even inexperienced listeners.
Chamber music is her central passion. Her ensemble, I Zefirelli, is known for captivating interpretations and innovative programs, such as the album “Mr. Händel im Pub” (2022). The ensemble was named Rheinsberger Hofkapelle 2013, won prizes at international competitions, and was supported by the European EEEMERGING+ program in 2022/23, performing at festivals across Europe. Additionally, she performs with trio Vinari (yoga and family concerts) and collaborates with ensembles like La Protezione della Musica, Lautten Compagney Berlin, and the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg.
Luise studied recorder with Prof. Peter Holtslag (HfMT Hamburg) and cornetto with Gebhard David, Anna Schall, and Josué Meléndez (HfK Bremen). She attended masterclasses with renowned artists including Dorothée Oberlinger and Maurice Steger. Her career has been supported by scholarships from the Claussen-Simon-Stiftung, Live Music Now Hamburg, DAAD (PROMOS), and the Deutschlandstipendium.
