Valeria Montanari harpsichord

Valeria Montanari is a harpsichordist, organist, pianist and fortepianist. She graduated from DAMS (Discipline delle arti, della musica e dello spettacolo, Università di Bologna) and further specialised at masterclasses with Claudio Astronio, Gordon Murray, Christophe Rousset, Ottavio Dantone, Emilia Fadini and Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini.
 
Both as a soloist and as a continuist, she has won several prizes in international competitions and has taken part in many concerts and festivals with numerous ensembles, orchestras and conductors specialising in early music performance practice. She collaborates as a continuist with the prestigious Baroque music orchestra Accademia Bizantina (Ottavio Dantone). She has recorded for the Tactus, NovAntiqua Records, Bongiovanni, Sidecar and Amadeus Paragon labels. She currently teaches Theory and Practice of the Basso Continuo at the Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello in Venice.
