Stefano Demicheli harpsichord, artistic director
Born in Turin, Stefano Demicheli graduated in organ, organ composition and harpsichord. He began studying harpsichord under Ottavio Dantone, and then continued at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland. His meeting with harpsichordists Lars Ulrik Mortensen and Emilia Fadini was decisive for his education.
He has collaborated as a soloist and basso continuo performer with numerous early music ensembles (Accademia Bizantina, Il Giardino Armonico, Freiburger Barockorchester, Concerto Köln, I Barocchisti) and regularly gives recitals as a partner of instrumentalists and singers. His concert activities have led him to perform regularly in the most important concert halls and theatres throughout Europe as part of prestigious festivals.
He is the founder and director of Dolce & Tempesta, an ensemble that brings together some of Italy’s most experienced musicians specialising in the performance of early music.
