Jaromír Nosek Marziano (bass)

Jaromír Nosek studied choir conducting at the Charles University in Prague and voice at the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Music in Prague. As a scholarship holder he participated in the Dartington International Summer School in the UK, the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, and masterclasses at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome.

He has collaborated with renowned Czech orchestras and vocal ensembles such as Collegium 1704, Cappella Mariana, Musica Florea, Ensemble Damian, the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestr Berg, and Prague Symphony Orchestra, as well as with many ensembles abroad: La Venexiana, Gli Angeli Genève, Concerto Palatino, Doulce Mémoire, Vox Luminis, Lautten Compagney, Wrocławska Orkiestra Barokowa, and others.

As a soloist he has worked with conductors such as Václav Luks, José Cura, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Rudolf Lutz, and Christophe Rousset.

Jaromír Nosek has been guest at a number of important international music festivals, including the Prague Spring Festival, Salzburger Festspiele, Festival d’Ambronay, Settimana Musicale Senese, Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, Festival Bach Montréal, and Festival del Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México.

His opera performances at home and abroad include the title role of Vivaldi’s serenata La Senna Festeggiante, the roles of Caronte and Plutone in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, Ortensio in Antonio Caldara’s opera L’Amor non ha legge, Polidarte in Il Giustino by Handel, and several roles of the Mozartean repertoire, including The Commendatore in Don Giovanni and Sarastro in The Magic Flute.

He has taken part in more than 30 CD recordings, many of which have been nominated for or received prestigious international awards such as Choc du Monde de la Musique and ICMA (International classical music awards).
