Eugénie Lefebvre (France) Doris, Olimpia, Roxane

Eugénie Lefebvre is the winner of the 2017 Corneille Competition for singers and a laureate at the 2013 international competition of baroque vocal art in Froville in France. She studied at the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Passionate about opera, she has taken part in stage productions of, for example, Castor et Pollux by Jean-Philippe Rameau, Médée by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Hippolyte et Aricie by Rameau, Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Les Fêtes Vénitiennes by André Campra, Orfeo ed Euridice by Christoph Willibald Gluck, Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart, Le Couronnement de Poppée by Claudio Monteverdi (as Néron), Le Pouvoir de l’Amour by Pancrace Royer (as Imagination / Hersilie), Lully’s Les Amants Magnifiques (as Hymen) and Cadmus et Hermione and Charpentier’s La Descente d'Orphée aux Enfers (as Aréthuse), Actéon by Charpentier (as Aréthuse) and Les plaisirs de Versailles (as La Conversation).

In concert she has performed with Le Concert d’Astrée (Emmanuelle Haïm), Les Arts Florissants (William Christie), Les Talens Lyriques (Christoph Rousset), Le Concert de la Loge (Julien Chauvin), Pygmalion (Raphäel Pichon), Ensemble Correspondances (Sébastien Daucé), La Rêveuse (Florence Bolton and Benjamin Perrot), Sagittarius (Michel Laplénie), Les Symphonistes (Olivier Schneebeli), Ensemble Sébastien de Brossard (Fabien Armengaud) and Le Poême Harmonique (Vincent Dumestre).

In the current season Eugénie Lefebvre will debut in a number of roles, including Dido in Henry Purcell’s Didon and Eneas, Issé in André Cardinal Destouches’s Issé, Doris, Olympia and Roxane in Campra’s L’Europe Galante.
