Annotation
Just as rivulets of water merge into a swift stream and later into a mighty river, melodies and rhythms from different corners of the world blend together to form one mighty flow of music. Water, as the sacred source of life, has been and continues to be an unforgettable source of artistic inspiration. For it sings and speaks to those who listen!
The German ensemble Los Temperamentos will immerse themselves in the waves of rivers and seas. They will embark on a long journey from German spa and port towns to Peru, Chile and Bolivia, following in the footsteps of vocal and instrumental motifs of European, Central and South American origin that travelled between the two shores of the ocean from the 16th to the 18th century.

Los Temperamentos
Los Temperamentos, founded in 2009, focuses primarily on the music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Under the direction of the Colombian cellist and arranger Néstor Fabián Cortés Garzón, the ensemble specialises in rediscovering and revivifying the relationship between the seemingly opposed worlds of Baroque music in Latin America and Europe. With their thematically diverse programmes, the artists bring together different styles, composers, and cultures, demonstrating the liveliness and immense richness of the palette of what is nowadays called “early music”.
The ensemble has performed throughout the whole of Europe, as well as in Mexico, Chile, Peru, and Ecuador. In 2018, Los Temperamentos joined on stage the internationally renowned Baroque violinist Ryo Terakado in Bolivia.
The ensemble has released four albums, which have all received exceptional reviews. “El Galeón 1600” (2015) and “Amor y Locura” (2017) were nominated for the International Classical Music Award.
