Akademie Versailles is an international educational project focused on the interpretation of French Baroque music. It is not only a unique artistic residency, but also one of the few specialised baroque music courses in Central Europe. It is designed for advanced students and young professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge of Baroque style and performance practice. These unique courses take place in Prague and attract talented young musicians from all around the world.

The project is part of a long-term partnership with the Summer Festivities of Early Music and the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles, which is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of French Baroque repertoire.

In 2025, Akademie Versailles offers two parallel masterclasses — one for Baroque orchestra and one for vocalists. Both courses culminate in a joint final concert. Participants work together to rehearse and perform a rich programme featuring orchestral works, arias, and cantatas by renowned French composers such as Jean-Baptiste Lully, Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Jean-Philippe Rameau, and Michel-Richard de Lalande.

Akademie Versailles provides a unique opportunity to study under the guidance of leading experts in the field of French Baroque music. Through intensive rehearsals, chamber music sessions, and individual coaching, participants gain practical experience in historically informed performance — and become part of an international community of early music enthusiasts.
